How do I book an experience?
Start by submitting a Request an Experience form with a few details about what you have in mind. I’ll personally review your request and follow up regarding availability and next steps.
Submitting a request does not reserve your date. Your booking is confirmed once we’ve agreed on teh details and the required reservation payment or payment has been received.
How far does Ms. K travel?
I’m based in Central Pennsylvania and generally accept in-person experiences within approximately 25 miles / 30 minutes. Requests outside my regular service area may be considered depending on availability and may require an additional travel fee. Any travel fee will always be discussed before you book.
Live Video Calls and Personalized YAY! Videos can happen from anywhere!
What if my child is shy?
That’s completely okay! Every little one is different. Some jump right in, while others need a little time to warm up.
There’s no expectation that your child needs to immediately sing, dance, talk or interact. I’ll meet them where they are and let the interaction happen naturally.
What actually happens during an experience?
There’s no rigid show or exact script! Experiences are interactive and naturally adapt to the child and the moment.
Depending on the experience, we may talk, sing familiar songs, read, play with toys, move around, be silly and interact with whatever catches your little one’s attention. Grown-ups can join in the fun too!
The goal is to make a familiar on-screen style feel like it has suddenly come to life and is interacting with THEM!
Can Ms. K stay longer than 30 minutes?
Possibly! If everyone is still saying YAY! and my schedule allows, additional time may be available.
If you think you may want more time, you’re welcome to ask ahead of time or during the experience. Additional time is $50 per 30 minutes and is never guaranteed.
What is the reservation payment?
A $100 nonrefundable reservation payment is required to reserve the date and time for a Birthday Pop-In. The remaining balance is due at the conclusion of the experience.
Character Grams, Live Video Calls and Personalized YAY! Videos are paid in full when booked.
What if our plans change?
I understand that plans sometimes change! With at least 48 hours’ notice, your Birthday Pop-In reservation payment may be transferred one time to another mutually available date.
If you decide to cancel rather than reschedule, the reservation payment is nonrefundable.
What if my child or someone in our household gets sick?
PLEASE tell me! Because these experiences involve close interaction with little ones and families, keeping everyone healthy is extremely important to me.
I never want you to bring a sick child to an experience because you’re worried about losing your reservation payment. If illness comes up, contact me as soon as you know. Illness-related bookings can be transferred one time to another mutually available date, even when it’s less than 48 hours away.
If I arrive and discover a potentially contagious illness that wasn’t disclosed beforehand, I may need to decline or end the experience.
What happens if Ms. K needs to cancel?
If I ever need to cancel an experience, I’ll work with you to find another mutually agreeable date. If we can’t find one, any amount you’ve already paid will be refunded.
Can we take pictures and videos?
Absolutely! Please take photos and short personal videos during your experience. Capturing those smiles, reactions and special moments is part of the fun!
If I would ever like to use an identifiable photo or video of your child for my website or social media, I’ll ask for parent/guardian permission separately. Permission to use your child’s image for my marketing is never required to book an experience.
Does a parent need to stay during the experience?
Yes. A parent, guardian or responsible adult must remain present throughout all in-person experiences. I’m there to interact and have fun with your little one, but I’m not providing childcare or supervision.
What if my child doesn’t react the way we expect?
That’s okay too! Little ones are wonderfully unpredictable.
Specific reactions or levels of participation can’t be guaranteed. Your child might sing, dance and chatter away… or they may stare at me for five minutes trying to figure out how someone familiar from the screen is suddenly standing in their house! I’ll follow their comfort level and personality and let the interaction unfold naturally.
What happens with bad weather?
If severe weather or unsafe travel conditions make an in-person experience unsafe or impractical, we’ll work together to reschedule. For outdoor events, having a covered or indoor backup option is always helpful.
Can siblings, friends and grown-ups participate too?
YES! The birthday child or special little one can absolutely be the focus, but siblings, friends, family members and grown-ups are welcome to join in the interaction. The more natural the interaction feels, the better!
Is Ms. K actually affiliated with Ms. Rachel?
No. Can You Say YAY! Experiences and Ms. K are independently created and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Ms. Rachel or her brand.
The The resemblance, voice, inflection and bubbly personality comparisons are genuinely part of how this whole idea came to be, and the experience is intentionally inspired by that familiar interactive style… but I’m Ms. K!
